Hanover County is a very economical place to do business, and it is centrally located. Plus, in ten minutes you can be out on a river, in the middle of a field, on a country road, or downtown catching a game.

Trane's regional office is located in Hanover's Crescent Business Center just off Interstate 95 at the Atlee/Elmont interchange. The 22,000 square foot facility serves Virginia, West Virginia and areas of Tennessee. Centrally located with easy access to three major travel corridors, I-95, I-64 and I-295, this Trane location has doubled in size, currently employing a workforce of more than 100 people.

Trane has a retail parts supply center, a warehouse and offices at the Hanover facility. Energy efficient building systems have grown to represent a large portion of their business. Substantial tax advantages and an easy construction process made Hanover County the top choice for the move to Hanover in 2003. When faced with potential hold-ups due to building codes during a recent expansion, Anderson worked with Hanover County officials and was able to reach swift resolutions.

"It wasn't a matter of having to follow a bunch of red tape. There was a question, I called the County, and I had an answer within an hour."

Anderson attributes a large portion of the office's success to both the County and the people of Hanover. A local partnership with the school district ensures an educated workforce. Anderson partnered with local schools to implement an HVAC program at the high school level. According to Anderson, "Finding quality personnel is the toughest thing for any business leader but being located in Hanover addresses that issue --  half of our workforce calls Hanover County home."

In addition to local recruitment opportunities, the tax advantages, easy access to major transportation hubs and a prime location only ten minutes outside of Richmond all help make the Hanover office a success.

"Young professionals and the emerging workforce could really benefit from taking a look at Hanover County," says Anderson.

Exciting business opportunities and the ease of partnering with the local government make Hanover County an ideal place to grow a customer base and expand operations in central Virginia.
