Historic Hanover Courthouse

Tour Scotchtown, the family home of Virginia’s first governor, and one of Hanover County‘s most famous former residents, Patrick Henry. Visit Hanover Courthouse Complex, where Henry successfully argued the 1763 Parson's Cause Case against the British crown. Rejoice in one of the nation’s most fundamental civil liberties at Historic Polegreen Church, birthplace of the Great Awakening of religious freedom, led by Samuel Davies and the Hanover Dissenters.

Looking for some family-friendly fun? Visit Kings Dominion, which features one of the largest roller coaster collections on the East Coast.

Or take everyone out for a round of bowling at AMF Hanover Lanes, which boasts 56 lanes as well as your favorite arcade games in a recently renovated game room. 

Ashland Berry Farm is another delight for all ages. You can pick your own strawberries and pumpkins or enjoy a hayride.

For a more sophisticated adventure, savor a glass of wine at James River Cellars Winery or drive to Richmond to visit the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and other noted museums and art galleries.
