Celebrate Virginia Craft Beer Month in Hanover
August is Virginia Craft Beer Month! With more than 100 breweries in place and more opening every year, Virginia has become a magnet for the craft beer industry. While Hanover’s craft beer scene is just getting started, it undoubtedly boasts a community feel for which the County is known. These local watering holes are becoming destinations spots by offering live music, great food and special events.
Here are a few places to enjoy craft brews in Hanover County:
Center of the Universe Brewing Company
Live music, food trucks and, of course, the beer have solidified Center of the Universe Brewing as a popular spot to hang out. Recent renovations to the tasting room adds a spacious, chic vibe to the already comfortable, casual setting that locals love to frequent. When the weather is nice, the spacious patio furnished with picnic tables and trellises laced with hops is a great place to end the day.
Brewville
Brewville is the place in Mechanicsville to take the craft scene to-go. This gourmet shop stocks more than 50 local and craft beers on tap for growler fills. You’ll also find gourmet snacks such as salsas, Hanover’s Olli Salumeria’s meats and locally-sourced pickles, jams and sauces. Beer enthusiasts can also enjoy the shop’s tastings, beer classes and other special events.
Kregger’s Tap and Table
Hanover’s newest brew spot is Kregger’s Tap and Table. Kregger’s has added a bit of flair to its shopping center location and is quickly gaining in popularity. The restaurant serves eclectic American faire and has local craft beers on tap. The fire pit make the patio a great place for sunny afternoons or cool evenings.
