Randolph-Macon to Host Business Workshops

Randolph-Macon College will be offering a series of business workshops. The goal of this initiative is to provide learning and development opportunities to members of the business community that will help them and their businesses thrive and grow. This workshop series will be hosted on the campus of Randolph-Macon College in Ashland.

“We are offering three, three-hour workshops designed to meet a broad range of business needs,” said the program’s director, Gary Lambert, “and we are pleased to host these on our beautiful Randolph-Macon campus.”
Participants can register for one or more of the following workshops:

Surviving and Thriving in Business, February 23 8-11 a.m.
This workshop is designed to cover the most critical foundational issues all businesses must address in order to not only survive but thrive in today’s competitive economy. Entrepreneurs and small-business owners will discover hands-on, practical tools they can use to launch and/or grow their business. Almost half of new businesses fail within the first year, with 75% failing within three years.

Managing and Leading Your Business, February 25 8-11 a.m.
The focus of this workshop is on managing a business day-to-day while providing strategic leadership, finding the right employees and managing their performance, and developing employees’ skills and keeping them engaged to perform individually or with a team. Participants will use best-practice methods to assess their current practices and will formulate an action plan to address their most critical business needs.

Telling and Selling Your Story to Drive Business, March 1 1-4 p.m.
This workshop addresses the challenging but tremendously important task of creating and communicating the right messages that are at the heart of every successful marketing, promotion and public relations effort. Participants will learn how to apply these business communication principles to help brand their business and define their value and distinction. They will also learn how to craft and deliver messages to drive business results.

The workshops are being held at Brock Commons, the student center located on Henry Street in the Randolph-Macon College campus. The cost per workshop is $150. For more information and registration, click here.
