Hanover’s Perspective

Hanover Company Producing and Providing PPE to Healthcare and Emergency Workers

Ballenger Motorsports Logo

Ballenger Motorsports, located in Mechanicsville, VA, is utilizing their 3-D printing ability to produce face shields to help meet the critical demand for personal protective equipment (PPE) using a design from Budmen Industries.  This design provides for a fully covered top bracket mounted to a clear face shield that prevents droplets from falling onto the user’s eyes, thus affording a high level of protection for the user.

In addition to producing PPE, company owner James Ballenger has provided nearly 5,000 masks for the local hospital system.  Due to Ballenger’s business model of working with a global supply chain, the company took steps early during the pandemic to acquire supplies of PPE.  James has thousands more N95 NIOSH mask in shipment with more on order, in addition to other PPE such as gowns and face shields.

Ballenger Motorsports has worked diligently to acquire and distribute PPE to local healthcare systems. To fulfill the need, the company is currently fundraising and recruiting volunteers to enable them to continue producing shields and acquiring PPE from suppliers.  Any healthcare or emergency services group in need of PPE is encouraged to provide contact information to Ballenger.  To date, the company has already provided PPE to Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center, MCV, Memorial Regional Medical Center, Pryor House, Prince Edward Volunteer Rescue Squad and more.
