Hanover Kicks Off Small Business Seminar Series

Hanover County Economic Development is kicking off a small business seminar series offering training and resources to aspiring or existing business owners.

The seminars will provide information about establishing a business, operating a business, loan programs, marketing and business development opportunities. The topics will be delivered by local business experts with a goal to provide simple tools to develop results-driven strategies for businesses. The series begins in October will continue monthly throughout the year.

“The goal of this series of seminars is to provide Hanover County’s small business owners and entrepreneurs with tools they need to innovate, prosper and grow their businesses,” says Edwin Gaskin, director of the Hanover County Economic Development. “The strength of Hanover’s entrepreneurial and small business community is essential to the overall health of our economy. We are committed to the success of business owners in our community.”

The first seminar titled “Virginia’s Volunteer Remediation Program for Redevelopment of Commercial and Industrial Properties” is presented by Jason Early, a hydrogeologist with Clear Creek Associates. It is scheduled for October 6 at 11:30 a.m.

The seminars will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The classes are held at the office of Hanover County Economic Development at Rutland Commons in Mechanicsville and at the Dominion Resources Innovation Center in Ashland.
