Virginia's Unemployment Rate is lowest since June 2008

Virginia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined by 0.1 percent in March and is now at 4.0 percent—the lowest rate since the June 2008 rate of 3.9 percent. Virginia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remains below the national rate, which increased in March to 5.0 percent. Gaines Mill Battlefield has been awarded $128,643 in a federal Battlefield Land Acquisition Grant to help protect and preserve the Civil War battlefield in Hanover County.
