You don’t have to tackle workforce development alone. Our team can assist with recruitment and retention, labor market and wage analyses, closure and layoff aversion, and information about grant and tax credits to offset hiring and training expenses.
Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA)
The CCWA is a partnership between Reynolds Community College and John Tyler Community College that provides non-credit training, certification courses, customized training courses, onsite training at your business, consulting, skills assessments and educational programs.
Hanover County Public Schools Cooperative Work Experience Program
Co-WEP connects the classroom to the real world. This program offers knowledge, skills and experiences to students with disabilities in an authentic work environment. Students gain real world experience by working in businesses in their community. Co-WEP provides students with career related experiences that support their career goals and prepares them for education and employment beyond high school. In partnership with businesses and community organizations, Co-WEP brings the classroom into the workplace and teaches students the skills employers are looking for. Co-WEP is a key part in transition services for our students. Students that participate in Co-WEP are supervised by a transition teacher from HCPS during the work session. The transition teacher works with the business in developing jobs for the students based on their skills and interests.

Hanover Center for Trades and Technology (THCTT)
The Hanover Center for Trades and Technology strives to create effective partnerships among students, parents, staff, and the community that enable students to become workplace-ready and develop into lifelong learners prepared to succeed in a competitive and ever-changing world. As a career and technical education center for junior and senior high school students of Hanover County, we are preparing every student for future success. Current program offerings include automotive technology, carpentry, cosmetology, culinary arts, electricity and HVAC/R. Hanover County Community Services (HCSS) Employment Services – Supported Employment
Supported Employment is a program that supports individuals with disabilities to find and maintain employment through matching their skills and abilities with employers in the community. Employment Specialists work one on one with Hanover businesses to understand your workforce needs and then match the skills of individuals with disabilities with the unique needs of your business. Virginia Career Works – Capital Region
Funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Virginia Career Works serves eight jurisdictions of Greater Richmond which includes Hanover County. For job seekers, Career Works can help with job searches, career services, updating skills, youth and veteran services, networking and additional resources. For businesses, they offer services such as labor market information, recruiting and screening, employee development and consulting services.
Virginia Employment Commission (VEC)
Through the Virginia Employment Commission, employers can post job listings and search for qualified employees in the Virginia Workforce Connection database, analyze labor market information and locate business services. In addition to administering the State’s unemployment insurance program, VEC also provides resources for workforce training and employer incentive programs. For job seekers, VEC provides assistance with job searches, creating and posting a resume, job training opportunities and more.
PeopleShare is one of the fastest growing staffing companies in Central Virginia. They provide temporary, temporary to hire and direct hire candidates in the roles of administrative/clerical, financial and light industrial. What makes PeopleShare unique is they see each candidate three times before submitting to the client for review, ensuring the candidate is the proper fit for the role and fully prepared to “Hit the Ground Running.” In addition to a variety of skills testing capabilities, PeopleShare offers the client the opportunity to see a brief virtual, behavioral based, recorded interview prior to scheduling the personal interview. Applying the $1.00 per mile rule, they focus on getting individuals in close proximity to the company, reducing the potential for candidates to look for jobs closer home.
Richmond Electrician’s Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (RJATC)
The Richmond Electricians’ Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (RJATC) has been a Registered Apprenticeship since 1946, and is approved and registered with the State of Virginia and the U.S. Department of Labor. It is a joint training program between the Atlantic Coast Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 666, aimed at training the best electrical workers the industry has to offer. The RJATC is part of the largest apprenticeship and training organization of its kind in the United States, the Electrical Training ALLIANCE (ETA), which has trained over 350,000 apprentices to journey worker status through local affiliate programs throughout the country.
Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP)
VJIP is a discretionary program offered by the State that provides funding to companies creating new jobs or experiencing technological change to reduce the human resource development costs for new companies, expanding companies, and companies retraining their employees. In addition to direct funding to offset a company’s recruitment and training costs, Regional Talent Solutions Business Managers offer human resource consultative support at no charge.
Virginia Talent Accelerator Program
The Virginia Talent Accelerator Program, delivered by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and the Virginia Community College System, provides world-class training and recruitment solutions that are fully customized to a company’s unique operations, equipment, standards, and culture. All program services are provided at no cost to qualified new and expanding companies as an incentive for job creation.
The Virginia Values Veterans (V3) Program is a Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Veterans Services Program whose mission is to educate and train employers throughout the Commonwealth on the Value of Virginia’s Veterans, and to help employers connect with these personnel assets to maximize the productivity of their workforce. We are committed to assisting employers recruit, hire, train, and retain Veterans.
